 Wow! The last 18 months have been rock 'n roll! I'm just adding a little note here for a quick update. I'm currently booking into 2022 and will be taking a slightly reduced amount of photoshoots in the coming year. With the opening of my zero waste store, rĒCo Refillery, my time is spread thin between the shop, our kombucha company, photoshoots, and family time. I'm so grateful for having the opportunity to be so busy with photos but I also recognize that I need a bit of downtime in between! I'm not leaving the game, just taking a bit more time for myself and my family. :) If you've popped by my site before, you'll notice that my galleries have disappeared. Although my style stays similar over the years, my editing has evolved and I felt the gallery displayed wasn't the best representation of my current style (I'll update the galleries once I have more time!).  An indoor Milk and Cookie Mini Session for kids!
Featuring a simple set of Christmas decor and real milk and cookies (optional milk alternatives and fake cookies for the wee ones), this studio session is geared towards 1-3 children ages 10 and under and is sure to put a smile on any child's face :) Dress the kids in their Christmas pyjamas or their stylish Christmas outfits! This was a vision and dream I had in mind over several years, becoming more prevalent over the last six months, and two months ago I decided to go ahead with it. Forgoing the personal training small gym/fitness studio and nutrition practice was a decision that wasn't easy to make, but I feel the space is better used with my biggest passion of photography, welcoming in newborns for their first photos, themed sessions, intimate shots, portraits and at long last a good chair and desk to save me from editing on my couch. A few personal touches and designs came together including a beautiful sliding barn door (to separate the hallway to the brewery) and custom shelving unit by Beyond the Bark to display some of my Dad's camera collection I inherited, along with a set of shoes my siblings and I wore as babies, books from my Great-Grandmother that are over 100 years old and some pieces that are near and dear to my heart. So many photos for such a small space, but I am pretty happy with the way it all came together. The last two pics are the before shots for reference. :) I've been enjoying editing in the bright space and can't wait to have more indoor sessions here. I was invited to sit in with the Deep River Symphony Orchestra to capture the essence of Conductor Peter Morris while in action. Peter has been such an integral part of the musical growth of this community with many years teaching, directing, and conducting under his belt. What talent we have in our little town!
We had so much fun with my first Easter Mini Session in the new studio space! The surprise bunnies were definitely a hit with the kids.

Spring is here and Easter is just around the corner! I'll be offering a stylized Easter themed mini photoshoot for children on Saturday, April 6th from 10am-2pm in Deep River. Backdrop and props included. 20 minute indoor session. 5 Digital Images. $75 Session suitable for children 6 months - 10 years old. $25 deposit required to secure your spot. I've always wanted to do a princess photoshoot in the Winter! I approached two of my favourite local Moms with the idea and we ran with it. Such a blast ordering the costumes, getting hair and make up done, spending time out in the snow, and having lots of laughs. The princesses were so well behaved and up for just about anything! Big thanks to Denise and Lillian, and Jana and Bria for braving the cold and going along with my shenanigans (and to Tracy and Tanis for the pony!). It's safe to say these will be keepsakes for years to come! Sooooooooo I love Halloween. And I've had this shoot in mind for a really long time. After finding the perfect model for Little Red Riding Hood, I set out to find the location and props (including a dog!) to make this fairy tale vision come to life.
Ericka was the perfect choice. For having never modelled before, she totally nailed this session, following my direction with ease and coming up with some wonderful poses of her own. Make up artist, Kristin Leitch of HeLa Beauty was also on the mark with her make up skills for Red Riding Hood (check out her Facebook Page for some great deals on new services!). Shout out to Deep River's Dog Walker, Kyrie Debling, who went out of her way to bring me Scott B.'s husky to play the wolf in a few shots. Thank you all for your roll in making this dream shoot a reality! Happy Halloween! At the Carbide Willson Ruins with the amazing Jenna Switzer. I've always wanted to do a session here and I'm so excited how this shoot came together. United last minute by a mutual friend online, we met that same day, hiked to the ruins, and connected both through the lens and off shoot. More pics to come! |
